Parent/Child
Engagement
FAP focuses on strengthening the whole family unit and creates opportunities for parent and child to learn and grow together. Through this DualGen approach, FAP offers parent workshops to foster parent-child engagement, promote early literacy foundations, and facilitate the development of 21st-century skills.
Classes offered to reach our goal are ePromotora and Austin PBS Workshops.
These programs help parents give their young children a strong, early foundation in literacy and STEM, bringing out the parents’ creative skills and uniting the whole family in learning together. Parents and students gain confidence in these essential new capacities.
Social and Emotional Learning and Mindfulness
Family mindfulness events are offered to promote healthy families and healthy children. These events serve as opportunities for parents to learn about healing-centered practices to help with stress and build connections and community. Sessions have included Mindfulness in your Day, Chair Yoga, and Expression through Art. All sessions foster social and Emotional skills that benefit the whole family.
